A design that invites the user to experience the sound of the Eresma river that runs through Segovia, Spain. The design was also to create clustered “boxes”, to coincide with the idea of mixed sound in one. With different levels and angles of the space, it allows the experience of sound to be different in each of the spaces in the overall project. Another factor that highlights the river's importance is to have one side of the buildings facing the river be all glass, whereas, the other side has limited glass exposure. The use of concrete is key here as concrete is known to help with soundproofing. This idea of one side having more concrete compared to the other side is to allow an experience of the hierarchy of river versus city in the overall space.
